French has three words for "time," and each one is used in certain circumstances: le temps, l’heure, and la fois.
Le temps
Le temps can mean either 'time' or 'weather' (if it is weather, it is almost always accompanied by the verb faire).
Here are the most commonly used phrases with temps:
Heure is used to refer to clock time.
La fois is used to refer to one or several instances of an event.
