As objects of prepositions:
As part of compound subjects:
With subject pronouns, to emphasize the subject. English sometimes indicates this emphasis with intonation alone, by stressing the pronoun when speaking.
After ce+être
In sentences without verbs, for example one-word answers to questions.
With même, for emphasis.
After the comparatif.
