Le comparatif
The comparatif compares two people, things, groups, ideas. It expresses the idea of more than, less than, or equality.
In English, we often use “-er” to express the comparative: Which is older, your Toyota or my Ford?
Forms: Comparisons differ for adjectives, adverbs, verbs, and nouns. Only adjectives agree with the noun they modify.
Bon/mauvais/bien: These have special comparatif forms.
Bon and mauvais are adjectives; bien is an adverb.
Note: This is also true in English. Good, better, best, for example.
