Cheryl Endicott-Weatherman

July 25, 1942 - March 17, 2011

Cheryl Endicott-Weatherman, 68, of Clinton, Indiana passed away on March 17, 2011, in Union Hospital - Clinton. She was born on July 25, 1942 in Danville, Illinois to Elwood Endicott and Clara Cook Endicott.

Cheryl was a1960 graduate of St. Bernice High School and a 1964 graduate of Indiana State University. In addition, Cheryl obtained her Masters Degree. Cheryl had formally been the Counselor and Dean of Students at Terre Haute South Vigo High School and she had been the Assistant Principal/Principal at South Vermillion High School. Cheryl had also been a former teacher at North Vermillion High School and Franklin High School in Franklin, Indiana.

Sports, especially basketball, were Cheryl's passion and that was truly reflected in her lifetime career and accomplishments. She was the Florence M. Curtis Scholarship Recipient at Indiana State University; she was a four-year letter winner in basketball; she played on the All Decade Team and the All Century Team. Cheryl was the 1979 Assistant Coach for the Indiana All Stars and the 1982 Head Coach for the Indiana All Stars. Cheryl coached the Terre Haute Diamonds Basketball Team and they were the Indiana Basketball Association State Champs for three years. Cheryl also coached basketball and volleyball at Franklin High School, and she coached volleyball and track at South Vigo High School.

She was the President of the Indiana Coaches Girls Sport Association and was a national collegiate basketball official. Cheryl was inducted into the Indiana Basketball Hall of Fame in 2005; and in 2009, she was named as an Inspiring Woman in Sports by the WNBA.

Cheryl was also honored by receiving the Sagamore of the Wabash. Cheryl was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ Latter-day Saints and a member of the Sigma Kappa Sorority.

Cheryl is survived by her husband, William Weatherman whom she married on August 16, 1964; her parents and her daughter, Lisa Davis and her husband Clint of Terre Haute, Indiana. Sisters; Sandra Jo Kaufman and her husband, Steve of Phoenix, Arizona; Leigh Ann Vogel and her husband Earl of Terre Haute, Indiana and Aimee Bruns and her husband Nick of Wheaton, Illinois. Brother-in-law Mark Weatherman and his wife Debbi of Milford, Ohio. Also surviving are grandchildren Larry Lee Davis, Riley Davis and Keely Davis and several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.

Services will be Monday, March 21, 2011 at 11:11 AM at The Church of Jesus Christ Latter-day Saints, 1845 North 6 1/2 Street, Terre Haute, Indiana. Visitation will be Sunday, March 20, 2011 from 2 PM until 7 PM at Greiner Funeral Home, 2005 North 13th Street, Terre Haute, Indiana and from 10 AM until service time at the church. Bishop Geno Magallanes and Uwe Hansen will be co-officiating. Burial will be at Sugar Grove Cemetery in Illinois. If friends and family so desire, they can make memorial contributions to the Cheryl Endicott Weatherman Scholarship Fund in honor of her grandchildren's education at First Financial Bank.
