Cutrell, Dale "Smoothie"

Newport, Ind. -- Dale "Smoothie" Cutrell, 55, of Newport, Indiana, passed away at 11:14 a.m. EST Saturday (January 13, 2007) at Union Hospital in Terre Haute, Indiana. He was born January 4, 1952, in Clinton, Indiana, the son of Clyde E. and Theda Ann Moore Cutrell. He Married Beth Tryon in Terre Haute, Indiana. She survives.

Other survivors include: two daughters, Amy(Joey)Tolbert of Newport, Indiana; Chelsea(James Carnine)Cutrell of Rockville, Indiana; one son, Thomas Cutrell; one stepdaughter, Jessica Tryon; his father, Clyde Cutrell all of Newport, Indiana; three grandchildren, Dustin Tolbert, Kyle Tolbert and Taylor Tolbert; one sister, Phyllis(Darrell)Orman and one brother, Greg(Karen)Cutrell both of Newport, Indiana. He was preceded in death by his mother and one brother, Mike Cutrell.

Dale was currently the Street and Water Supervisor for Newport, Indiana. He was a 1970 graduate of North Vermillion High School. He was a member of the Newport Church of God, Newport Sons of the American Legion Post #184, Local #157 Pipefitters, North America Trap Collectors and the Fur Takers of America. He was a former member of the Newport Fire Department. Dale enjoyed fishing and trapping.

Funeral services: 10 a.m. EST Tuesday, January 16, 2007 at DeVerter Brothers Funeral Home in Cayuga, Indiana; Officiating: Rev. John Hawkins; Burial: Thomas Cemetery, Newport, Indiana; Visitation: 4 to 8 p.m. EST Monday, January 15, 2007 at the funeral home. Family request contributiions may be made to the American Cancer Society or to the Newport Church of God with envelopes available at the funeral home.
