FITHIAN — Rebecca “Becky” Anne Goble, 56, of Fithian, passed away at 12:40 a.m. Friday, Dec. 10, 2010, at home with her family by her side.

Becky was born on Sept. 3, 1954, in Danville, the daughter of Donald Paul and Helen June (Dalbey) Sherman. She married Gary D. Goble Aug. 15, 1992, in Fithian. He survives.

She is also survived by daughter Heather Wheaton of Fithian; son Michael Moore of Danville; step-son Bob (Kristen) Goble of Danville; two step-daughters, Marsha Wheeler of Urbana, and Crystal (Kenny) Bowman of Danville; four brothers, Donald (Sherrill) Sherman II of Georgetown, Terry (Regina) Sherman of Danville, Everett Sherman of Danville and David Sherman of Danville; sister Cynthia (Paul) Dunham of Humbold, Tennessee; five grandchildren, Katelyn Blankenship, John “Brandt” Wheaton, Stephen Moore, Lexi Moore and Sophie Moore; 11 step-grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents and a step-grandson, Dillon Bowman.

Becky graduated from North Vermillion High School in 1972. She most recently worked at the Oakwood Grocery store. She was a past member of the Eastern Star. Becky enjoyed gardening, cooking, going to auctions, looking up family history and spending time with her family. Becky was also very proud of her step-grandson, Michael Wheeler, who is serving in the United States Air Force.

A celebration of the life of Rebecca “Becky” Anne Goble will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Dec. 15, 2010, at Sunset Funeral Home and Cremation Center, A Life Celebration Home, with Pastor’s Dennis Divan and Kim Dancey officiating. Burial will follow the service in Springhill Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5-8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
