Theresa Gene Knipe

Theresa Gene Knipe, 33, of Danville, passed away at 11:28 p.m. Saturday (April 30, 2005) in Warren County Ind.

Theresa was born Aug. 2, 1971, in Danville, the daughter of Eugene Ward and Eunice Ellen (Babb) Delp. On Jan. 15, 1997, she married Scott Knipe in Warren County, Ind. Scott survives. She is also survived by her parents, Eugene and Eunice Delp of Covington, Ind.; two sons, David Bradley Tallman and Nathaniel Vincent Knipe, both of Danville; four daughters, Audri Anna Dawn Knipe, Emma Gene Knipe, Hannah Nicole Knipe, and Isabel Michelle Knipe, all of Danville; two brothers, Travis and Rhonda Delp of Collinsville, Okla., and Brian and Beth Delp of Covington, Ind.; paternal grandparents, Troy and Vivian Delp of Mellott, Ind.; maternal grandmother, Norma Babb of Danville; two nieces, Sadie and Katie Delp; and a nephew, Jarrid Delp. Also surviving is Teresa's mother-in-law, Mildred Maxine Knipe of Williamsport, Ind.; brother and sister-in-law, Bill and Kathy Knipe of Pence, Ind.; sister-in-law, Brenda Warren of Attica, Ind., and her children, Shelley Moody also of Attica and Adrian Warren of Indianapolis.

Theresa was preceded in death by her maternal grandfather, Charles Babb, her great-grandparents, Ward and Ibbie Crumly, and her niece Amber Knipe Askren.

Theresa graduated in 1989 from North Vermillion High School in Cayuga, Ind. She had been a member of New Life Christian Center in Danville for many years and was presently a member of The Vineyard in Urbana for the past two years.

She was very involved in a variety of activities centered around her family, especially their six children. These included many years of teaching in children's church, volunteering at both North Ridge Middle School and Northeast Magnet School. She loved taking pictures and then scrapbooking. Her interests also included collecting butterflies, anything peach and white and most recently gardening.

Theresa was a devoted Christian mother who taught her children the meaning of loving and serving God. She epitomized the Christian woman in today's world. The only thing in life she loved more than her children was God.

A celebration of the life of Theresa Gene Knipe will be at 12 noon Monday, May 9, 2005, at Sunset Funeral Home and Cremation Center with Pastor Gerri Mehnert of The Vineyard officiating; Visitation will be from 2-6 p.m. Sunday, May 8 at the funeral home. In honor of Teresa, her family requests that those attending either visitation or the funeral service feel comfortable wearing casual attire. Burial will be at Rose Hill Cemetery in Hillsboro, Ind., beside her beloved great-grandparents. Memorials may be made in lieu of flowers to the Knipe Children's Fund.
