Myra Lynn Fortner

"Funeral services for Myra Lynn Fortner, 11-year-old twin daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Russell Fortner of Perrysville, who died Friday, August 29, at Springfield, Missouri, were held at 11 a.m. Tuesday at the Perrysville United Methodist Church.

The Rev. Donald True officiated and burial was in Lower Mound Cemetery, southwest of Covington. Serving as pall bearers were six classmates, Brad Dunham, Don Gouty, Kevin Smith, Mark Keele, Randy Ping and Larry Langley. The Bodine & Shelby Funeral Home of Covington was in Charge.

Myra Lynn, who was vacationing with her family, had gone swimming in the pool at the Branson Motor Court in Branson, Missouri, Thursday afternoon. Later she was missed and she was found on the bottom of the pool by the son of the motor court owner. She was given artificial respiration and was rushed to Skaggs Hospital in Branson. From there she was transferred to St. Johns Hospital in Springfield, Missouri, for further treatment, and she was admitted there at 6:15 a.m. Thursday. She died at 5:20 a.m. Friday." – The Covington Friend, September 3, 1969

Myra is buried in Mound Cemetery, Perrysville, Indiana.
