Shirley K. (Nicholson) Moore

October 22, 1950 - October 3, 2003

CAYUGA, Ind. - Shirley K. Moore, 52 of Cayuga, passed away (Oct. 2, 2003) at Provena USMC Logan campus, Danville, IL.

She was born Oct. 22, 1950, in Danville, IL, the daughter of Keith D. and Alice (Clark) Nicholson. Shirley married Greg S. Moore on Sept. 19, 1970, in Catlin, Ill. He survives.

Other survivors include: two sons, Chris (Jessica) Moore of Indianapolis and Ryan Moore of Danville, Ind.; her parents of Catlin, Ill.; a brother Richard (Carolyn) Nicholson of Carlinville, Ill.; several aunts and uncles; mother-in-law, Helen L. Moore of Dana, Ind.; and a special family friend, Katie Hanna of Indianapolis. She was preceded in death by her father-in-law, Robert E. Moore.

Shirley was a kindergarten teacher starting at the old Cayuga Elementary School in 1974 and then to the North Vermillion Elementary School. She loved teaching the children. She was a 1968 graduate of Catlin High School, a 1972 graduate of Southern Indiana University in Terra Haute. She was a member of the Cayuga Christian Church. She enjoyed gardening, her church, but most of all her family.

Services were held at the Cayuga Christian Church; Officiating: Rev. Andy Spencer; Burial: Thomas Cemetery in Newport; Memorials contribution can be made to the American Cancer Society. Arrangements by DeVerter Brothers Funeral Home in Cayuga.
