William Asbury "Pete" Craft

Covington--William A. "Pete" Craft, 42, of rural Covington, Ind., died at 8:31 a.m. Thursday (Oct. 2, 1997) at USMC, Logan Campus, Danville.

He was born May 22, 1955, in Clinton, Ind., the son of Billie D. and Anna Lou Asbury Craft.

He received disability in 1988 from the Norfold & Southern Railroad. He was a 1973 graduate of North Vermillion High School and a 1974 graduate of Lincoln Technical School of Indianapolis. He was a member of the American Coon Hunters Association and several local Coon Hunters Organizations. He served as a board member for the American Red Bone Coon Hound Association, was director of the Red Bone Tree Hunters Association, and member of State Coon Hunters Association Network, Professional Kennel Club (PKC), United Kennel Club (UKC), American Kennel Club (AKC). He enjoyed raising Red Bone and Beagle coon dogs and playing cards.

Survivors include: a very special friend, Sue English; three sisters, Sally (Rick) Watt of Attica, Ind., Suzy (Dode) Hacquet of Newport, Ind., and Marianne (Ralph) Burke of Covington; one brother, Byron (Margie) Fultz of Cayuga, Ind., one stepsister, Bonnie (Jerry) Delp of Cayuga; one stepbrother, Rick (Patti) Donald of Covington; mother and stepfather, Anna Lou (Richard) Fultz of Cayuga; stepmother, Ellie Craft of Terre Haute, Ind., paternal grandmother, Blanche Craft of Newport; maternal stepgrandmother, Lucille Asbury of Newport; paternal stepgrandfather, Leo Fultz of Perrysville, Ind.; and several aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his father, a brother, David Lee Fultz, paternal grandfather, Miles V. Craft, and maternal grandparents, Victor and Ellen Asbury.

Services: 10 a.m. Monday (Oct. 6) at DeVerter Brothers Funeral Home in Cayuga; Officiating: Rev. Andy Spencer; Burial: Thomas Cemetery, Newport; Visitation: 4-8 p.m. Sunday (Oct. 5) at the funeral home. The family request contirbutions to the Amercian Diabetes Association.
