EUGENE, Ind. — Paige Nicole Badger, 16, of Eugene, passed away at 3:45 a.m. EST Sunday, Nov. 7, 2010, at Riley Hospital for Children in Indianapolis.

She was born Nov. 27, 1993, in Danville, Ill., the daughter of Scott and Shelley Sams Badger.

Survivors include her parents; sister, Chelsie Badger; and paternal grandmother, Barbara Badger, all of Eugene; paternal great-grandmother, Bernice Turpin of Dugger; several aunts, uncles and cousins; special friends, Kailynn Straw, Rusty Hall, Brandy Wright, Kurstin McQueen and Jackie Case for visiting and playing cards. And a special “Thank You” to Mr. Charles Wagoner, art teacher at North Vermillion High School.

Paige was preceded in death by her maternal grandparents, Herschel and Jenny Sams; paternal grandfather, Jerry O. Badger.

Paige was a junior at North Vermillion High School. She was a member of the Cayuga American Legion Junior Auxiliary, North Vermillion High School Art Club, Vermillion County 4-H and the American Kennel Association. Paige enjoyed volleyball, softball, football, cheerleading, hunting, fishing, mushrooming hunting, listening to music, writing songs and raising beagle dogs. She especially enjoyed spending time with and talking with her mom and dad. Paige loved her pet dogs, Ranger and Bruiser, along with her cat, Rosie. Paige met many new friends at Riley Hospital and enjoyed hanging out with her “Homies” back home and spending time with her family.

Graveside services and burial: 3:30 p.m. EST Thursday, Nov. 11, 2010, at Eugene Cemetery in Eugene; Officiating: Pastor Kevin Wildman; Visitation: 5 to 7 p.m. EST Wednesday, Nov. 10, 2010, at DeVerter Funeral Home in Cayuga.
