The Environment Planning Committee is organising a campaign to make our town more 'green'. You are invited to submit a proposal related to your neighbourhood. Present some factual information about the area, pointing out any relevant environment issues, and suggest practical measures which individuals and families could take to make the neighbourhood more green.
Write your proposal in 220-260 words.

Responding to your invitation, I would like to report on the current ecological situation in this city and to recommend some measures to make the environment greener.
The city is a regional centre of the area and it locates at a mid-latitude low plateau being protected from the strong wind with the mountains. Although this place takes a slight risk of being flooded or destroyed by hurricanes which can be markers of climate changes, flourishing heavy industry and quite a large population produce some eco-issues that are usual for this combination.
In my opinion, the most tremendous problem here is a high level of pollution. Not only does it include air and water contamination by the factories and plants but also a great contribution of people who take part in this process of overall deterioration in surroundings. I would like to outline that they are citizens who are to blame for tons of burned and buried garbage in the city's landfill sites and litter all over the streets and lanes. I can admit that a modern throw-away method of packing and wrapping is an obvious detrimental factor because plastic is mostly not biodegradable but I insist that little progress has been made by the authorities in making this city cleaner and more eco-friendly. So, I dare to call all the previous campaigns diet-book syndrome manifestations.
I deem the following steps might help convert words to deals. Firstly, a new public crusade against the rubbish should be launched so that every media would suggest sorting and recycling garbage all the time. The campaign ought to work in tandem with placing separate trash cans for various sorts of junk all over the city. What is more, I am sure that if the streets become clean, people will be inclined to throw something away nowhere but into recycling bins. It is so because there is a psychological phenomenon of being afraid of spoiling something apparently ideal.
I am looking forward to your positive decision about implementing my propositions. I believe that these alterations would be judicious and overdue and are likely to shift this city to a better level of living standards.
