You have listened to a discussion about the value of travelling to other countries. You have made the notes below.
What's the greatest benefit of travelling to other countries?
education
experience
convenience
Some opinions expressed during the discussion:
You learn so much you travel, even if you're only in a place for a few hours.
There's no substitute for the feeling of actually being in a place
It's so much cheaper and more convenient to watch TV at home - what's the point in hassle of travelling?
Write an essay discussing two of the points in your notes. You should explain which is the greatest benefit of travelling to other countries, giving reasons in support of your answer.
1.
Nowadays people travel as twice as much they used to. Why are trips so popular and, probably, will be even more attractive in the future? I believe that it is so because of being crucial for a modern, smart and sophisticated person. Among other advantages, it is experience which is the most tremendous gift of going somewhere else. I mean that reminiscences and emotions connect with the traveler’s memory and mind so that to synthesize unique expressions.
True it is, people learn a lot when they are on the road or in an unusual environment due to ubiquitously coping with potentially dangerous situations and encounters, at least for an unconscious mind. It demands a quick adaptation and mobilisation all one's physical and mental resources. Being in such atmosphere brings about irreversible positive changes in person's mind structures. It is scientifically proved that seasoned tourists solve spacious and analytical riddles faster and better than armchair ones. So, I consider educational benefits as a piece of personal experience.
Additionally, immersing yourself in foreign culture can give you a golden opportunity to compare visons, traditions and languages and, consequently, notice many invisible points that, otherwise, would be hidden from you. Thus, travelling can widen your mental observation field. What is more, going overseas with someone tests your social connection with this person so that you can say what each is worth. It is, again, a great contribution to your awareness of the reality.
To conclude, I would like to say that travelling is a priceless chance to develop your body and mind. Besides, as the old saying goes, a rolling stone gathers no moss. If the moss there are a boing routine, tedious issues and tiredness of being a cog in the wheel, it is surely about trekking, hiking, sightseeing and being happy.

Thus, travelling can be an eye-opener which broadens your field of mental vision.
