Harold Scott sold cheap shoes.
He had a small lorry, and he bought the shoes [from] the factory and took them from one house [to] another and tried to sell them [to] people.
He sold a lot [of] his shoes [in] small villages,
because there were not many shops there, and people did not want to go [to] the town and buy their shoes there.
One day Harold drove [along] the street [of] a village and stopped [in] front [of] one of the houses.
There was a small boy [beside] the door.
Harold opened the window [of] his lorry and called [to] the boy,
"Hello. Is your mother [at] home?"
The boy, looked [at] him.
Then he answered, "Yes, she is."
"That's good," Harold said, and he smiled.
He got out [of] his lorry, took some shoes [from] the back and went [to] the door [of] the house.
He knocked [at] the door and then he waited, but the door did not open.
[After] a minute, Harold knocked [at] the door again and waited [for] two minutes, but again the door did not open.
Then Harold looked [at] the small boy and said [in] an angry voice,
"Your mother is not [at] home."
"She is," the small boy answered.
"Then why hasn't she opened the door?" Harold asked.
"Because this isn't my house," the small boy answered.

Вопрос: Почему по-русски следует сказать Он покупал обувь на фабрике, а по-английски He bought the shoes from the factory = Он покупал обувь c фабрики?
take/buy from the factory -> bring/sell to somebody
взять/купить на фабрике = вывезти с фабрики -> привезти/продать

He bought the shoes at the factory. Покупает по сути обувь, которая либо еще и не изготовлена/в процессе изготовления, либо прямо с конвейера. Причинно-следственная связь. Статика.
He bought the shoes from the factory. Он покупал обувь и вывозил её c фабрики. Динамика.

2. Где он это узнал? б) He got it at school. В школе.
He got it from school. Получил знания в школе и применяет их вне школы (чтение, письмо, арифметика, поиск информации в библиотеке и др.).
He got it at school. Получил знания в школе и применяет их в школе же (как получить хорошие отметки, где спрятаться от завуча, где незаметно покурить, как избежать встречи с хулиганами и др.).

There was a small boy beside the door. (Стоять) рядом с дверью, нет функциональной (=причинно-следственной) связи с дверью.
There was a small boy in the door. (Стоять) в проходе, находиться внутри створа двери.

Вопрос: Актуализатором/морфологизатором какой семы являются предлоги on/in/at/to со словом page = страница?

Почему с такими словами-понятиями как home, work, disco, school (занятия), lesson, meeting, conference, party (вечеринка) и пр. нужен предлог at? = Cемантическим маркером чего является предлог at?
at - маркер стяжения, причинно-следственной связи. Следом идет существительное без артикля, то есть переводить нужно глаголом.
at home - домохозяйствует, отдыхает
at work - работает
at disco - клубится
at school (занятия) - учится
at lesson - учится
at meeting - встречается
at conference - выступает или слушает
at party - веселится

he told his friends in the office about his work - у него (he) нет функциональной (=причинно-следственной) связи с офисом. Офис, где работают его друзья, но не он. Он там гость, то есть зашел в здание офиса, чтобы рассказать

Вопрос: Какая корреляция между предлогами at/in и статизмом/динамизмом?
1. I am at home. = Я дома, никуда не собираюсь, занимаюсь обычными делами = статика = связь фукциональная.
2. I am in. = Я дома, так что скоро поеду (куда собирался), пойду, etc. = динамика, мобильность, указание на пространственно-временной характер связи с помещением/местом, но не функциональный.
