We met with Vanessa's legal team again today and handed over the new evidence that we've managed to find - not that it amounts to much. They've decided to call one of the neighbours as a witness, because she saw someone knocking on the door and looking in the windows of the house that morning. Unfortunately, she didn't see the woman go inside, so the prosecution will easily be able to claim that she couldn't have killed Christopher. Apparently, the court is supposed to have a list of all the witnesses that are going to be called in advance of the trial starting. Fortunately, Christabel had already given notice that they needed more time to finalise their list of witnesses, but she said that the judge will not be at all pleased if we come up with any mor,e now that we're only days away. Peter suggestd that she ought to apply for the trial to be put off while we finish our investigation, but apparently Vanessa wants to get it over with - and I can't say I blame her. It must be awful just waiting in limbo not knowing how things are going to turn out in the end.
