The index page for Richard's diaries is one of the things that doesn't work in the new Google Sites. The diary entries are still all here on the site, but it's hard to find them. Please be patient while I work out a way of making them accessible again.
A note from Bernie.
My first husband, Detective Superintendent Richard Paige, kept a diary all his life. During our two-year-long marriage. He kept it secret from me, probably afraid that I would laugh at the idea - which, to be fair to him, I probably would have done. It was not until nearly four years after his death that we discovered the several dozen volumes containing his record of his life over more than fifty years. The extracts below are chosen to give you a flavour of the man and to throw light on some of the incidents which you may have read about elsewhere. It's taking some time to transcribe the diaries into digital form, so please be patient if the bit you particularly want isn't there yet!
You can find a list of all the diary entries that I've transcribed so far here. Each entry has a link to the next one (if it exists) chronologically.
