A rather disturbing case today - a young boy gone missing. We were called in by the local bobby - Constable Johns. He looked a bit wet behind the ears (couldn't have been more than twenty-two or three) but he knew his patch all right. The mother looked scared stiff and she had a troupe of boys who mostly sat like rabbits in the headlights - all except the eldest, who seemed to be in charge and very resentful of us questioning his mother. No sign of any man in the house. Johns filled us in about the family afterwards. Apparently the boys have been in trouble before. Murdishaw's inclined to think it's a storm in a teacup and teh boy will just turn up, but Johns clearly thinks it's out of character.

No time off this weekend, with a missing child on our minds!
