I met with Yvonne again today. We had lunch together at the prince of Wales in Iffley – doing our bit to “Eat Out to Help Out”. It was more convenient for Yvonne than getting out to our house and we couldn’t meet at hers in case her husband came back and found us discussing their financial affairs. I’m not that happy about going behind his back, but it seems the only way to get them back on track, seeing as he won’t accept any help. Gavin and Chrissie were there too, as well as Yvonne’s teenage son, Leo. Gavin and Leo sat on another table so that Leo wouldn’t hear us discussing their debts. The good news is that Yvonne seems to be getting a grip at last. She’s spoken to the debt advice people and got a repayment plan sorted. She told us that she’s back at work now, which is helping both financially and psychologically.
