Spent the afternoon with Mum. She has a really nice house in Henley. She refused to be drawn on what she's been doing all these years - or with whom. Whatever it may have been must have paid well because she won't have had anything when she left home.
She showed polite interest in my career, but didn't ask any questions about me personally. I suppose it must be as strange for her picking up the threads after all these years as it is for me.
We agreed that I'd visit again next Saturday. I'm going to look out the old photograph albums and see if they prompt her to talk about herself.
