I went round to see how the work on Bernie’s house is coming along. The builder says that they should be out by the end of the week. I suppose once she moves back in that will be the last I see of her. It will feel strange not to have her around the place. I’m tempted to go round in the night and sabotage the building work – but that would be childish. Maybe if I asked she’d agree to come to see me occasionally, but I doubt if she’ll want to be bothered with me once she’s got her own place again.
