Well, at least it was all worth it! Eddie’s new house is far more suitable for bringing up a couple of kids. Abigail and Ricky have a much bigger bedroom, which Stan has offered to help Eddie to divide with a partition so that they each have a space of their own. The third bedroom is small, but plenty big enough to be Eddie’s home office, which will be far better than trying to work from home in the bedroom of their tiny flat. He’s now going into the office one day a month for tea meetings, but it looks as if working from home is going to stay for the foreseeable future. Most of his colleagues (all IT nerds, of course!) prefer it and it means that he can fit his work in around childcare a lot easier.

It was Abigail’s first day at school today – or rather the firs half day. The reception class only do mornings for the first week, to avoid them all getting too tired with all the new things they’re experiencing. I’m not sure that it’s a good idea, because it means two changes of routine within a few days. But maybe I’m just becoming one of those people who say, “they never used to need that sort of thing in my day!”
