So, as widely predicted, the 21st June won't happen! That is to say, 21st June won't be the long-awaited "Freedom Day" that nightclub owners and conservative MPs have been calling for. Just a few concessions such as allowing more people at weddings, to keep us quiet while we all wait to find out what the real implications of the Delta variant of the coronavirus are.
We were planning a trip up to Liverpool to visit Lucy, but that isn't looking like such a good idea at the moment. On the other hand, we've all been vaccinated and there aren't actually any rules about not travelling within the UK. On the third hand, her term ends on 9th July, which isn't all that long off, and this year it does look feasible for her to come home without risk of being locked down and unable to go back inn September.
