After waiting for hours while the jury deliberated, we finally got a verdict this afternoon. The Butlers and Stuart Hatton were found guilty of Harry Whittle’s murder with Holly Butler (Terry’s wife) guilty of perverting the course of justice (because of the elaborate alibi that she constructed for her husband). Disappointingly, Shane Butler was found not guilty of murdering Kenny, presumably on the grounds that it may have been telling the truth when he said that he didn’t mean to hit anyone, still less kill them. So, as far s Kenny’s concerned, his killer is only going down for Causing Death by Dangerous Driving.
They were all remanded in custody to wait for the sentencing hearing, which will be on Monday.
