Apologies for the long time between posts. I've been concentrating on getting the new site up and running, following conversion from Google Sites to New Google Sites. There's still a lot to do to fix all the pages, so I may not manage a daily post for some time.

Today, I drove Lucy back up to Liverpool in readiness for the start of the new term. As I write that, I realise that I never told you that she'd come home! She's been here for a few weeks now and would have stayed longer if it hadn't been for the recent local lockdowns in Greater Manchester and increased COVID-19 restrictions in one ward in Liverpool. She doesn't want to suddenly find herself unable to go back because of local lockdowns here or in Liverpool, or even a national lockdown if we get a second wave before term starts.

We had a socially-distanced meeting with Joey and Ruth in Princes Park. They didn't want to risk us going round to their house because Aunty Rose is classed as highly vulnerable to COVID-19 and they want to keep her safe. We discussed what sort of memorial we could have for Aunty Dot, but we couldn't think of anything that would be appropriate. It's difficult when she'd been in the Care Home for so long. A bench in her favourite spot would have to be a favourite spot from years back! Lucy suggested a tree, like what Gaving and Chrissie did for Kenny, but where should we plant it? In the end, we agreed that we'd all think about it and talk again via Zoom.

Mariam is back home in Blackburn at the moment. She's not sure whether she's allowed to travel under their current local restrictions. Ibrahim's worried that the increased prevalence on COVID-19 there will put his parents at risk, with them both working in the hospital there. He had to stay in Liverpool because, although he's still mainly working from home, he has to be able to go into the office occasionally. So he and Dom have had the house to themselves since Lucy and Mariam went home. They both seemed pleased to see her and Ibrahim had baked a special "welcome home" cake to celebrate the occasion.
