Peter’s come clean and admitted that he’s asked Father Damien to prepare him to become a Roman Catholic. They’re aiming for him to take his First Communion at the Easter Vigil next year. I don’t know whether that’s because it’s the “proper” time to do it or if Father Damien is setting a date well into the future to give Peter time to change his mind! I hope this won’t stop Peter coming with us to Cowley Road sometimes, the way he has been doing. Everyone is always pleased to see him, for Angie’s sake, and he always used to say that he felt specially close to her when he was there joining in the hymns that she loved so much.
