Dom emailed Lucy today to say that he and Ibrahim have found a house to rent. Did I tell you that they've cooked up a plan for Dominic, Lucy, Ibrahim and his sister Mariam to share a house when Lucy and Mariam start at Liverpool University in September? It's a big Edwardian terraced house not far from the university medical school, which will be handy for Lucy and Mariam. According to Dom, it's got four decent-sized bedrooms (one for each of them), kitchen, bathroom, sitting room and dining room, and a small garden at the back. It's a bit pricey for student accommodation, but Dom and Ibrahim both have jobs, so they can afford to make a slightly bigger contribution to the rent. Talking about jobs, Dom has landed a job teaching religious studies at a catholic high school, which will please his mum. She's been anxious that he might move away to another part of the country, or allow his catholicism to lapse, or both! This will make her feel more secure. She wasn't that keen on him moving into his own place either, but I think she's decided that a house-share with his cousin and a couple of friends wil be something that she can explain to Father Nat without blushing (unlike the domestic arrangeents of Dom's sister Chloe, who is living in a flat with her boyfriend)!
Dom and Ibrahim have put their names down on the house and we've promised to take Lucy up to see it next weekend.
