Lucy has emailed to say that all her lectures and lab sessions have ben cancelled as of tomorrow, as part of the university's effort to prevent COVID-19 spreading. They've been told that teaching will all be delivered online and tha texams may have to be done online too, if social isolation is still necessary by the time the assessments are due. I can see how lectures can be done that way, but it will be difficult to reproduce the experience of lab work. I'm glad that Lucy and Mariam are living in the shared house with Dom and Ibrahim and not in student accommodation. It means that they can be fairly sure that they're not being exposed to people returning from ski-ing holidays in northern Italy or sharing facilities with gung-ho youngsters who don't understand about infection control.
Meanwhile, here's Jurgen giving his opinion on cancelling football matches because of corona virus.
