I don't believe it! After Liverpool's 4-1 defeat of Norwich on Friday night, you'd have thought they'd have been top of the table when the first full day of matches was over, but Manchester City have pipped them to the post with a 5-nil thrashing of West Ham. Norwich aren't even in the relegation zone now, because their single goal has put them ahead of Southampton, Watford and West Ham on goal difference. Everton only managed a goalless draw against Crystal Palace, which puts them 9th in the table. Newcastle have their first match this afternoon against Arsenal, so that's Stan's day sorted!
PM update
Worse and worse! Manchester United also thrashed their opponents (Chelsea) finishing with a 4-nil victory and Arsenal scored the only goal in the Newcastle match. The upshot is that Liverpool are now 3rd in the table, behind both of the Manchester clubs and Newcastle are way down at 14th.
