Compare and order decimal numbers of up to 3 decimal places
A playing area big enough for the circles of players
1 ball per group of students
Form small groups.
Players stand in a circle with interceptor in the middle.
Players in a circle throw a ball to other players in the circle. Each time a player catches the ball, they call out the next number in the pattern. Eg. Count forwards by 0.5 starting at 1.
Players on the circle can’t move.
Teacher calls out a starting decimal number and the chosen content focus, eg. count forwards by 0.5 starting at 1.
Players throw the ball to each other.
Each time a player catches the ball, they call out the next number in the pattern.
If the ball is intercepted, the thrower changes places with the interceptor, or change after 4 throws.
Count forwards and backwards.
Change the way the ball travels, eg. roll, kick, bounce pass.
