Compare and order common unit fractions
Compare and order unit fractions with denominators of 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 8 and 10 by placing them on a number line

Marker cones
Students write a fraction, with a certain denominator, on a post-it note. Alternatively, provide students with pre determined fraction cards. Eg. play with halves, quarters, eighths.
Mark a playing area
On the whistle, players form groups and order their fractions from smallest to largest.
Teacher calls out a locomotor skill for students to use to move around marked space.
When the whistle is blown, students move to form a group of 4 players and order their fractions from smallest to largest.
Students swap their fraction with someone else in the group and begin moving around the space.
Repeat when the whistle is blown, forming a new group of 4.
