Provide each pair with a double/halve spinner.
Players in small groups or pairs double or halve 3-digit numbers with the aim of collecting the most sticks.
In pairs, students take turns to roll the dice to form a 3-digit number and spin the spinner to determine if the number has to be doubled or halved.
Students relay run to collect place value discs, or similar, to represent the number and return them to their hoop.
Play continues until the teacher blows the whistle, or times runs out.
Have teams arrange their collection. The team with the largest collection of sticks wins.
