Use the counting sequence of ones flexibly
Count forwards to at least 30 and state the number after or before a given number, without needing to count from one
Count backwards from a given number 20 or less
Recognise number patterns
Recognise dice and domino dot patterns
Markers to make a 20m x 10m playing area.
Bean bags or large counters
Dominoes
Additional marker (1 per pair)
Place a marker for each pair of students at one end of playing area
Scatter dominoes or counters at other end of playing area
Students take it in turns with their partner to run/jump/bear crawl/crab walk etc from their marker to the other end of the playing area to select a domino.
Students use same movement to return to partner and marker.
Students count the number of dots on their domino.
Students count aloud the total on the domino while performing a physically active movement (star jumps, toe taps, vertical jump, hop etc.).
Students keep domino in their hoop. Students repeat above until all dominoes in the middle have been counted by the group.
