Paddle bat or racket ball or tennis racket
6 tennis balls or similar per group
Form groups of 3.
Setup target (buckets/hoops) with various values, eg. 1, 2, 3.
A ball is hit with a bat into a hoop or a bucket to score points. Play in groups of 3 players. After 6 hits, players add their total score.
Hitters have 6 hits, then rotate roles.
Collectors retrieve balls and return using a nominated path and type of return (e.g. roll down the side).
After 6 hits, record addition number sentences to find total score.
Vary number of throws.
Change the value of targets.
Play in reverse. Begin with a total and create a subtraction number sentence.
Use any operation to achieve an identified target number.
