Determine products and factors
Use the term product to describe the result of multiplying 2 or more numbers
Indoor or outdoor playing area.
3 pencils
a paper clip
4-6 pink counters (or another colour) and 4-6 blue counters (or another colour).
Players form pairs and get their game board, spinner, recording sheet, counters, and pencils ready.
Fill in the spinner with multiples of the chosen divisor, eg. multiples of five.
Identify a list of physical exercises to choose from, eg. star jumps, push ups, high knees, catching and throwing ball.
Players aim to have 4 counters in a row by dividing numbers by a chosen divisor.
Select a divisor to use, eg. five.
Players take turns to spin the spinner and divide the number spun by the chosen divisor, eg. spin 10. Divide 10 by 5 = 2.
Players work out the solution and explain their thinking to their partner.
Their partner records their thinking and if they agree, the first player is able to place one of their counters on the number on the game board, claiming that place, eg. counter is placed on 2.
Players perform their chosen physical exercise the number of times as identified on the gameboard, eg. counter is placed on 2, player performs 2 star jumps.
If the number is taken, players miss a turn.
A player wins by getting four counters in a row (in any orientation).
Vary the numbers on the spinner.
Change the physical exercises.
Play with more or less counters to win.
