Count in multiples using rhythmic and skip counting
Count by twos, threes, fives and tens using rhythmic counting and skip counting
Use skip counting patterns
Identify and describe patterns when skip counting forwards or backwards by twos, fives and tens
Marker cones
Music (optional)
Setup spots / cones with numbers
Players identify number spots around the room, then devise ways of linking or sequencing the various spots with different types of travel.
Call out a sequence or pattern, e.g. 2, 4, 6, 8, count forward by 2s starting at 4, count backwards by 5s starting at 30.
Players then link the spots.
Vary the way players move between spots e.g. running, skipping, jumping, animal walks.
Optional: Record sequences on a number line.
Change the sequence e.g. even numbers 2, 4, 6, 8, followed by odd numbers 1, 3, 5, 7.
Students could create their own sequences.
