Time: Represent and interpret digital time displays
Identify situations where duration is measured in seconds
Indoor or outdoor playing area
Cones or markers
Stopwatch
Whiteboard and marker
Mark a start and end point.
Players walk between point A and B, trying to get to point B as close as possible to 10 seconds.
Choose two places in the classroom or playing area. One is the start and the other the end.
Student A walks from the start to the end point.
As they do this they are timed by Student B using a stopwatch.
Student B says "Go" and starts the timer.
Student A walks and is required to get to the finish as close as possible to 10 seconds.
Student A yells out "Stop" when they want Student B to stop the timer.
Student B calls out the time and records it on a whiteboard.
Each student has 5 attempts. The winner is the closest to ten seconds.
Change the locomotor movement, eg. skip, run, jump, hop.
Change the timeframe, eg. 30 seconds.
