Determine sorting categories, eg. grams, kilograms,
In small groups, students take it in turns to relay run to the hoops at the end of the playing area and place one animal at a time into the appropriate category.
After all cards have been sortied, perform a gallery walk and discuss student ideas.
Students research each animal to find its weight.
Use more sorting categories, eg. milligrams, tonne
