Describe and compare two-dimensional shapes, including parallelograms, rectangles, rhombuses, squares, trapeziums and kites

Print and cut out Always, sometimes, never playing cards
Arrange hoops at the end of the playing area and label, always, sometimes, never.
Students determine whether a given statement is always, sometimes or never true and relay run to place the statement in the correct hoop.
Identify sorting categories, eg. always, sometimes, never.
Players pick a card and decide if the statement is always, sometimes of never true.
Players take turns to take the card and run to the other end and place the card in the correct category.
Continue until all cards have been sorted.
The team who sorts all of their cards first (and accurately) win.
Perform a gallery walk to look at each teams sorting and listen to their reasons.
Players could create their own statement cards.
Vary the locomotor movement.
Include a timeframe.
Change the size of the playing area.
