I know that it seems nearly impossible to have a fun and action-filled summer when we live in Ohio. Even though you won't find any tropical beaches in the Midwest, there are so many opportunities to make unforgettable memories right here in our hometown!
Even if you are not a huge baseball fan, going to a Cleveland Guardians game is a fun activity that brings families and friends together on a boring day. The Progressive Field has amazing views of the city from every angle and has so many opportunities for fun games to play in the stadium. Going to games where they offer the Dollar Dog Night or the fireworks show will lighten up any summer day or evening. If you are not looking to spend much money, you can get the standing tickets, which can be as low as $15. The first Dollar Dog Night & fireworks show will be on Friday, May 30, 2025–a perfect way to celebrate the end of the school year! Check out each game’s giveaways and themes here, the Cleveland Guardians ticket website.
Another stop for summer fun is Cedar Point, the roller coaster capital of the world, and it is only an hour and a half away from us! Cedar Point has a wide range of different rides and activities, from tame to intense. They are constantly upgrading the park and adding more attractions so it upholds its reputation. The scenery at Cedar Point is beautiful inside and outside the park. Inside the park is extremely colorful and vibrant with action all around. Right outside the park is surrounded by Lake Erie, where you can take in the sunsets and walk along the beach. Check out Cedar Point’s website for more information.
Make sure to check out the artists and shows coming to Blossom Music Center, a concert venue in Cuyahoga Falls. It is super popular in the summer because all of the most popular music artists come to perform. Last year was one of the best lineups they have had in a long time, with people like Noah Khan, Niall Horan, 21 Savage, and more. You can get a lawn ticket on very short notice and for a very cheap price, depending on the artist. Check out the list of artists here.
Another fun day adventure would be to drive down to Put-in-Bay, go shopping, go out to eat, and rent a boat to take on Lake Erie. While you are there, you can take the boat to Cedar Point; even if you didn't buy a ticket, you can enjoy the beaches and the scenery that the park offers. “The Boardwalk” is a fan favorite restaurant in Put-in-Bay that offers amazing seafood and panoramic views of the lake all around. Check out this website for more details about all the fun you can have on Put-in-Bay!
Overall, these are just a few examples of places around us to brighten up your summer and make every day unforgettable.
