When walking through the beautiful streets of Savannah, Georgia, with the sun shining through the city, you are bound to develop an appetite. The Treylor Park should be a destination on every tourist’s route. This is not your typical dine-in restaurant; along the walls are trinkets and fun decor that make the atmosphere feel like you are in an actual “trailer park.” Though not huge in space, this quaint restaurant has enough heart and spirit to balance out what it lacks. The Treylor Park is a perfect place to dine on a hot summer afternoon. 

Per the restaurant’s website, The Treylor Park is owned and started by Trey Wilder and Rick Kunzi. After working in different food industries in New York, the two owners decided to open a new, unexpected, extraordinary restaurant. Wilder and Kunzi wanted the atmosphere to be fun, laid back, and have the feeling of home right as you walk through the restaurant doors. 

This restaurant puts a spin on the traditional Southern style of food. From food that ranges from PB&J Chicken Wings to Chicken and Pancake Tacos or a Grilled Apple Pie Sandwich. The Treylor Park, seeming unconventional, highlights unique food combinations that bring out the different flavors that just make the food work. Being someone who typically doesn’t like to try “different” things should not deter you from giving this restaurant a chance. The Treylor Park allows customers the chance to choose something that they never otherwise would, and they will not be disappointed. This restaurant uses its potential weaknesses to customers, to make it even more worthwhile. 

I was drawn to the Chicken and Pancake Tacos when choosing off the menu. This dish includes “lightly toasted” pancakes, which I might add, were cooked to perfection. Inside the pancake tacos was crispy fried chicken with chili aioli sauce, along with a strawberry salsa. The chili aioli sauce was out of my comfort zone but added a tang to the dish that you wouldn’t want to miss. The strawberry salsa added a refreshing touch to the dish that added to the flavor and overall cohesiveness of the taco. 

This is a must-stop when visiting the popular vacation spot of Savannah, Georgia down south or stopping in their other locations in Florida and across Georgia. This restaurant is worth the time, money, and experience that will leave you wanting to stop back to try even more of their interesting combinations. It will most definitely be a stop for my family and me next time we find ourselves in Savannah. The Treylor Park is a stop you don’t want to miss, so come park down south and try something new.
