Chloe Sutter is a junior here at AHS. She has been going to Aurora her whole life but just this year she has decided to broaden her horizons by joining Excel TECC through Chagrin High School. She has also been a part of the plays and musicals for the school and is a president of Zonta Club. Overall, Chloe does it all!
Excel Tech is something different that Chloe was excited to be a part of. Chloe states, “I was inspired to do Excel TECC because I am very passionate about theater and acting and I wanted to expand my skills in acting.”
She has been interested in acting and singing from a very young age and started singing when she was only 4 years old. She has put a lot of time towards advancing her skills in theater and it is paying off. “I have been acting since I was 4, my first show was Annie at Aurora Community Theater. I have been singing with lessons since 5th grade but I have always loved singing,” Chloe shares.
Chloe has also found that being in the school's plays and musicals has helped her tremendously and she has found that it has brought her some of her favorite roles. Chloe exclaims, “I think my favorite role to play was Brooke Wyndham in Legally Blonde. Brooke was a role that I really didn’t expect to have but I am so glad that I played. The role was very sassy and funny which was so much fun to portray.” Even though Chloe claims that this role was a bit out of her comfort zone, she ended up having tons of fun with it and truly made it her own.
With Chloe’s bubbly and fun personality, she is able to make a lot of friends in her different activities. She says that she has made some of her closest friends through theater and they click because of their shared interests. She admits, “I have made so many friends from Excel TECC from a bunch of schools. It is really cool to meet new and different people that I have things in common with.”
On top of the singing and acting, Chloe has become the president of Zonta Club this year after being a part of the club since she was a freshman. Zonta club is a way of supporting women and uplifting women and girls in the school and community. This is a national club though, so along with other schools that offer this club, it is helping women around the country. When asked about her plans as president of Zonta Club, Chloe says, “In Zonta Club this year I’m hoping to expand the club through fundraising and volunteering activities. This year we are planning to have lots of opportunities to raise awareness to empower women and help women.”
Chloe uses the internet to find people she looks up to in the industry and uses them as inspiration. She loves Broadway actors and actresses and is inspired by how they came to the light. “Someone who inspires me most is Renee Rapp. I’m very inspired by her because she was a girl who loved singing and high school and then built herself up into a Broadway actress and a great artist,” Chloe states.
Chloe isn't exactly sure what she wants to do in the future, but if she stays on this track, chances are she will continue to share her talents somehow. “My goal for the future is really to just expand on the talent I have. I’m not entirely sure where I would like to go music and acting wise but I hope to have it in my life in some way.”
You can see Chloe in the Excel TECC plays, the school musical, as president of Zonta Club, and much more. Make sure to look out for Chloe accomplishing great things this school year!
