Olivia Derecskey

Olivia is a sophomore and a first-year journalism student. She is on the Aurora Highlights dance team for her second year and she dances competitively at Elevation Dance Studio. She is involved in Drug-Free Club and Student Council, and is joining Interact Club this year as well. Olivia has four siblings: an older sister, Julia (17); a younger sister, Amelia (7); a younger brother, Cameron (6); and a younger sister, Emma (4). She also has a 1-year-old Australian Shepherd dog named Indigo. Olivia enjoys hanging out with her friends, shopping, watching movies, and reading in her free time. Some of her favorite movies are “How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days,” “When in Rome,” and “10 Things I Hate about You;” her favorite TV show is “How I Met Your Mother.” She also enjoys listening to music by Harry Styles, Morgan Wallen, The Weeknd, and Niall Horan. Olivia is excited to write and publish articles this year for The Gambit!
