Hailey Postan is a freshman in high school with a lively personality, a strong work ethic, and a kind heart who will only strive to be the best she can for the rest of her high school career.
Postan is almost finished with her freshman year of high school, and when asked how she feels about it, she states, “So far, I am really liking high school. I have met so many new people and have shared so many memories with them.” High school is not only beneficial educationally, but it also provides you with lots of friends and memories that will last a lifetime.
When thinking about the class she enjoyed most her freshman year, Hailey reveals, “My favorite class this year is biology. It is my favorite because of all the different aspects of it and how I can see the things I learned in the real world.” Many people tend to dislike biology because it requires a lot of critical thinking, but not Hailey. She uses this class to understand the world she lives in, which most don’t take the time to do.
Just as biology is her favorite subject, it is also the one she struggles with the most. Hailey utters, “Even though biology is my favorite subject this year, it was also probably one of the most difficult since there are so many little details you need to know to see the big picture of biology. I like that it was a challenge for me because it made me grow as a student. I overcame my difficulties by learning different strategies on how to study for tests.” Most people do not like a challenge, but Postan does. She takes it on full speed to further her intelligence and finds enjoyment while doing it.
Hailey is an amazing student and considers herself one for a variety of reasons: “I have maintained a GPA higher than a 3.5, and I am really passionate about learning, so I can be successful in my future. Some traits I have that help are being organized, getting my work done when it is due, and putting in the time to study.” These qualities help Postan succeed academically at the high school and will surely help her in the future.
Not only is Hailey a remarkable learner in high school, but she also participates in activities throughout the school. Currently, she is in the Drug Free Club, which is such a valuable club to be a part of, as it ensures you are being a responsible student and making healthy choices.
Postan also partakes in a sport. She is a part of the cheer team and loves it. She explains, “I have only been doing cheer since 6th grade, but right away I knew it was my sport. I made varsity cheer freshman year. Cheer has taught me so many life lessons and things about myself that I did not know. I am beyond grateful for my team and my coaches who have helped me along the way.” Making varsity as a freshman is extremely impressive, and I can’t wait to see what she accomplishes in cheer with the rest of her time in high school.
When looking back on her favorite memory from cheer this year, she stated it was the last football game of the season, the last time the team scored a touchdown. She exclaimed, “Since it was one of the playoff games, all the cheerleaders and the fans were very hyped.” Looking back on the memories only reminds Postan how much she truly loves her sport.
Hailey intends to go to college in the future where she is looking to attend Ohio University or Ohio State University. She lists some goals she hopes to accomplish there: “[I would like] to maintain a good GPA and to go out of my comfort level and join my clubs and do more activities.” These are perfect goals for college and I have no doubt that Postan can accomplish them.
When thinking about occupations she would like to be, she asserts, “I want to become a speech therapist.” This is a perfect job for Postan as she is super easy to talk to with her friendly manner and smiley apparence.
Hailey Postan, in her typically selfless mindset, states, “I would like to include some people who have helped me along the way to reach my goals: my nana, my mom, and former Coach Hannah.” Postan gives the credit for her success to the woman who has helped her along the way, further alliterating her generosity.
Hailey is known for her hospitality and ability to be friends to all she meets. Her kindness and diligence will surely propel her to reach her goals in the future and I know her loved ones, friends, and me will be cheering her on all the way.
