One of the most popular movies from 2016, “Zootopia”, finally came out with a long-awaited sequel.
The original first movie of “Zootopia” was definitely a favorite throughout the years for kids of all ages and even older, it definitely left its mark as a movie that you can watch at any time and not get bored of it.
The movie picked up right where the other one ended where Nick and Judy were working together on a case to figure something out. As per usual, they did not get instruction to do this before doing it, and although they figured it out and stopped the guy, they wrecked half the city in their doing. This made for a messy situation where half the police department just hated them. By doing this though, they found something that led them into a whole nether investigation. They found a piece of snake skin.
This is something new that was introduced in this movie, and where the plot really comes from. They over do it once again though and somehow get blamed for something they didn’t do, and end up running away fugitives. Although that happened they did figure out where the snake skin came from, they introduced a new character, Gary the snake. Gary helps them throughout the movie and as well they help Gary get to what they need. As well there were a lot of new characters introduced that really helped build to the plot of the movie, well also still keeping some of the original fun characters.
Another thing this movie had was another iconic song. This was another long awaited part of this movie. Shakira wrote and sang it again and it was called ironically, “Zoo”. This song was very catchy and definitely matched the “Zootopia” vibe. Although as good as it was, it didn't quite match the original iconic “Try Everything” from the first.
Something interesting that a lot of fans may have missed is how many celebrity cameos were in the movie. One of my personal favorites was at the end of the movie, featuring Robert Irwin playing the character “Robert Furwin” and I thought it was so cute. Some other people in it people may have missed are Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson or Shakira.
“Zootopia 2” also included a few hidden easter eggs from what fans think lead to “Zootopia 3”. The biggest one came at the end of the movie. This easter egg was a feather floating down onto Judy’s window. Fans including myself and some of my friends all think this is a hint to the next movie, opening now birds too into “Zootopia” as well.
Overall, I definitely enjoyed this movie and would give it 5 stars. If you are looking for a good family friendly and funny movie, this would be it and you wouldn’t walk out of the theater disappointed.
