Logan Archibald is an Aurora High School freshman involved in the girls varsity tennis team.
Logan has been playing tennis for ten years. In order to get better at tennis, Logan said that she used to focus on playing year-round. However, after being on the varsity team, she realized it’s much more than that: “...each time I play brings new skills and strategies, and there’s always something to learn. Before this season, I had never played doubles, so learning doubles strategies and working on communication with my partner has been a whole new experience.”
Logan’s favorite memory from the season involves her friendships: “My favorite memory from this season was overall just getting to know all of the girls. Everyone on the team is so supportive and has helped me in so many ways beyond just playing tennis.” It’s always a good feeling knowing that you’re being supported, especially when it’s one’s first high school experience.
Some personal goals that Logan has for herself are to continue with her faith and keep having a positive attitude: “Some of my personal goals are to keep growing in my faith, as it’s a big part of who I am and shapes the choices I make. I also want to keep a strong and healthy mindset, learning how to stay positive, even when things get tough so that I can handle challenges better.”
As a role model, Logan states that she looks up to her mom in many ways: “...she’s my role model, and her strength and kindness inspire me every day. Watching her handle life’s challenges with grace and resilience has taught me what perseverance is. Her support and encouragement make me feel like I can achieve so much.” Having support from one’s parents is so important, and Logan is lucky to have such a loving mom.
In ten years, Logan hopes to see herself experiencing life while making a difference: “...I see myself growing in a career I’m passionate about, where I can make a difference and feel proud of what I do. I also hope to be confident, with a positive mindset and strong faith that still guides my decisions. Staying close with family and friends is important to me, and I hope to travel and experience new places.” It’s safe to say that Logan’s on the right path to accomplish her dreams.
In her free time, Logan likes to read and spend time with her family. A fun fact about her is that she doesn’t like chocolate!
Overall, be on the lookout for Logan to make a difference on the tennis court and in AHS.
