Looking for something fun to do with your friends this fall? There are plenty of fall locations in this area that will fill boring October and November days with fun activities. Picking the perfect pumpkin, drinking apple cider, and riding a hay ride are classic fall activities that can’t be overlooked this year. Besides that, there are more activities to do besides walking through pumpkin patches, like haunted houses and Halloweekends at Cedar Point.
Derthick's Corn Maze
Derthick’s Corn Maze is a great place to venture this fall, and it’s only about 15 minutes away. Sophomore, Alyssa Rodenhauser, has been to Derthick’s Farm and she says, “There was a corn maze, zipline, and farm animals. It was a great fall experience to do with friends.”
What sets this location apart from others is that their corn maze creates a different picture every fall season so it makes it exciting to come back and try and escape the maze. This location is full of different activities that are unique to other fall farms and will leave you wanting to come back.

Ramseyer Farms in Wooster, Ohio is another fall location that has positive feedback. Sophomore, Sabrina Avila, claims that this is a well-set-up area and shared, “My favorite part of the pumpkin farm was all the fall festivities they had such as hay rides and a sunflower field along with the pumpkins.”
This classic fall farm has a ton of different fall snacks like donuts and apple cider and they also have a unique corn maze that creates different pictures from an aerial view.

Halloweekends at Cedar Point not only has fall activities and fun, but it also has thrilling rides that may appeal to a different crowd. Cedar Point goes all out for the fall season and really tries to make the theme park a fun and festive environment. There are various haunted houses throughout the park and many decorations that are both spooky and cute. There are actors that walk throughout the park dressed as Halloween characters that scare people as they wander the park. Junior, Erin Snyder exclaims, “Halloweekends has a completely different vibe than a regular day at Cedar Point; the vibes, the scene, the decorations– it's such a fun experience.”

For a more thrilling experience, haunted houses is a more action-packed riveting activity. Junior, Kelsey Krizansky recently went to Bloodview Haunted House and really enjoyed her experience there. Haunted houses are a fun, quick, and thrilling fall activity to do with a group of friends or family. There are trained actors that appear throughout the tightly crammed house full of Halloween decorations and spooky setups that are meant to leave the viewers feeling like they are actually walking through a real “haunted house.” Kelsey states, "There was definitely a wide variety of decorations and people in the haunted house, with characters like clowns, zombies, werewolves, and many others."
Overall, these activities will make the fall season fun and enjoyable for everyone. Embracing the autumn season and taking advantage of these pumpkin patches, Halloweekends, and haunted houses will make this season the best yet!
