We will even get to get back into our literature circle groups to read, dig into, and discuss a passage from his memoir, The Soul of a Butterfly.

Morphology:  Morphology:  This week we will be learning a new group of Greek bases. These are learned in groups of 4. They are; cray/cracy, geo, meter, and therm.

Homework: Quiz over the 4 new Greek bases

Math: Mrs. Bennett

This week in Math class we are focusing on understanding volume. Students will find volume by counting the number of unit cubes that fill a right rectangular prism. After students understand unit cubes, they will explore how to find volume of a right rectangular prism by multiplying the number of cubes in the base by the number of cubes in the height. We will explore with different units such as cubic inches, cubic centimeters, and cubic feet to see the differences is volume based on the cubic unit of measurement being used.

Students will also be putting the final touches on their greenhouses! We will plant our tomato plants and set them outside in a week or two!

Homework:

Since it is a short week, I wanted to change up our homework routine a bit. By Friday, students should complete two IXL's listed on their Math Skill Plan. Students know how to find this on their iPads. Students will also be given time in class to work on their Skill Plan. I know some students do not know how to do some of the skills listed on their plans. They can either pick one they can accomplish independently, or they are welcome to come see me during morning/afternoon homeroom and I will work with them! Feel free to reach out to me with questions or feedback!
