WHAT WE ARE LEARNING

LA: MRS. PHELPS

This week we will put what we learned about point of view into practice and use photos to write about the same scenario but from different perspectives. So far, the class has learned the definitions of perspective, 1st person, 2nd person, and 3rd person point of view. As well as the 3 types of 3rd person point of view; limited, omniscient, and objective. I look forward to being able to apply this knowledge to the text Wonder as well.

Morphology:  We will have a morphology quiz on Friday, February 23rd. Students should use their morphology cards on the ring (created in class and typically kept at school) and their morpheme chart in their notebook to study. I will name the morpheme, give an example word, and students will choose the meaning from multiple choice questions on a google form.

Homework: Read p. 190-230 of Wonder and complete job sheet for literature circle meetings on FRIDAY

**Study for Morphology Quiz, also on Friday.

MATH: MRS. BENNETT

This week in Math class we are learning how to use the partial quotient strategy for dividing 3 and 4 digit numbers by a 1 digit number. This strategy allows students to think flexibly about division. We will also use estimation to help us check our work and assess the reasonableness of our answers.

Homework:

2/19- SS #89

2/20- SS #90

2/21- SS #91

2/22- SS #92

2/23- SS Quiz

HAPPY VALENTINE'S DAY!

SOCIAL STUDIES: MRS. CRUSH

We will continue learning about the Midwest Region. The students will learn the importance of agriculture and how water sources play a huge role in that. Similar to the two former regions, the students will research a landmark and presenting this information to their classmates.

Midwest States + Capitals Test: Friday, February 23.

RELIGION: MRS CRUSH

We will continue our Saints Madness project this week. Students have chosen a saint to research. The students are working individually this year. Our goal for this week is to research about our saint. This will help the students to determine which population their nonprofit will be serving in honor of. This project will take several weeks and a tentative timeline is below.
