Homework: Vocab Quiz Friday

Math-Mrs. Bennett

This week in Math class students will work with improper fractions and mixed numbers. Students will work with an improper fraction that is able to make some wholes but has some units left over. We will learn how to write this as a mixed number with a whole and a fraction. Students will work with real-world scenarios where improper fractions might be used. We will use recipes as an example. Students will think about how many times they would need to fill a measuring cup to match the recipes ingredients.

Homework:

Students need to complete two IXL's from their Math Skill Plan to 100%. Students will be given class time to work on their IXL's and can always come ask for support if they are having trouble with the skills on their plan! These due need to be compelted by Thursday, since we do not have school Friday!

Social Studies- Mrs. Crush

In Social Studies, the students will continue our Economics Unit. This unit focuses on the basics of economics and the free enterprise system in the U.S. The students will learn about money, business, and entrepreneurs. This week, we will be completing the simulation, "We are going to pretend that it is the future and we are all living on a small planet that is similar to Earth called "Futura." Next,  we will begin part 2: "The Free Enterprise System." In Part 2, the students will act as both producers and consumers. They will work in small groups to create a company, produce a product, and manage a store. They will also get to shop at the other stores created. Afterward, the "companies" will reflect on their product and profit.

Stations of the Cross

On Fridays during Lent, the students participate in a call and response Stations of the Cross. With them going in the mornings, they are also fortunate to be in the church during Adoration. We spend a few minutes at the end in silence to pray and listen to Jesus.

Religion- Mrs. Crush

We are continuing our Saints Madness tournament! During each class, the students learn and watch the students' iMovies of at most eight saints and then answer questions about the saints.

Science- Ms. Jackel

World Language- Mrs.. Dunlap

On Saturday, my son, Garnett, and I went to Louisville Metro Animal Shelter to drop off our persuasive writing posters in hopes to help some homeless dogs find their forever homes!

Some posters were hung while I was still at the shelter and I was able to take pictures. Other dogs were currently in foster homes. I chose to make my example poster for a dog named Olive and while I was there, she was adopted!!!
