Meet the Teacher

Hello, my name is Christina Crush and I’m very excited to be teaching your children at Ascension! This is my third year as the 5th grade Homeroom teacher, and I’ll be teaching 3rd-5th grades in Religion and Social Studies.

Previously, I taught 4th and 5th grade at St. Francis of Assisi for four years, and taught 4th grade at my alma mater in Nashville, TN. I moved to Louisville after my husband, Patrick, and I were married.  We have two children: Mary Catherine (3 years old) and Patrick (1).  I enjoy spending time with my family and friends, exploring the outdoors, and rooting on the Notre Dame Fighting Irish!

I graduated from Saint Mary’s College in Notre Dame, IN with a B.S. in Chemistry and a minor in Math. After fulfilling a few years of volunteer work with the Jesuit Volunteer Corps, I received my Masters in Teaching from Trevecca Nazarene University in Nashville, TN.

My goals for this year include exposing the students to more of their community. With a mix of individual and group assignments and projects, classroom discussions, and field trip opportunities, we will achieve our curriculum goals in a safe, welcoming, and fun manner.
